Mitä eroa (muuta kuin eri väylään tungetaan) on PCI-E ja AGP näyttisten välillä? Kun tuli ostettua kone ja epähuomiossa ei katottu ostaessa ettei koneessa ollut AGP-väylää.

As of 2006, although AGP is still incorporated into many motherboards today, it is gradually being phased out in favor of PCI Express (PCIe). Theoretically, PCI Express allows much faster data transfer, is full-duplex, and also supports other devices. So far, 2006 has seen many motherboards available with PCIe slots, with some gamer-oriented configurations offering dual PCIe x16 slots. Many newer graphics cards are available exclusively in PCIe, with AGP versions of the same cards becoming correspondingly rare. At this rate, it is expected that AGP will be almost totally replaced within a few years.

Eli lyhkäisesti suomeksi. PCI-E on reippaasti nopeampi. AGP on katoamassa, eli tulevaisuudessa on hankala löytää AGP-väylään käypäistä näyttistä.

PCIE tukee myös sli/crossfire-konfiguraatioita joissa on yhdestä neljään näytönojainta kytketty yhteistoimintaan.

EDIT: PCIE-väyliä on erinopeuksisia. Nopein on 16x ja hitain 1x joka lienee tarkoitettu vain erinäisille lisäkorteille...
